King Auto Center Supports Kauai

King Auto Center has been a long time supporter of Kauai's Community. Just last year, they gave Kauai's "Teacher of the Year" the use of a brand new car (read that story next month).

King Auto Center's continued role as a major supporter of the Island is reflected in how they conduct business here on Kauai. As they are committed to keeping there word when selling cars, King Auto center is commited to supporting our community.

There lastest good deed can be seen in their sponsorship of The Kauaian's Community Calendar.

The Kauaian, a community website, focuses on using the internet to enhance communication and the spread of information to strengthen the quality of our lives here on the island. King Auto Center recognizes these actions by helping to support the Kauaian so that we can continue in our efforts to preserve and further our way of living.

Some of the Highlights from the Febuary 2002 Calendar are:

VOLUNTEER WORK DAY with the Koke'e Resource Conservation Program to continue a thorough search of the ridges near Halemanu Valley for the invasive weed privet, and to assist with the maintenance of the Halemanu Trail.

NORTH SHORE FOOD PANTRY - will now be open every Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. The Pantry is open to all who are in need of food. The additional times of operation have been made possible by local volunteers and a generous grant from the G.N. Wilcox Foundation.

The Kaua'i Museum's CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION will be held on Feb. 2. Sifu Michael Ng's students will demonstrate Gung-Fu self defense techniques. Sifu Dayna Ng will also perform a Chinese Tiger Dance. Phyllis Tokita will be demonstrating Narcissus bulb planting from noon - 2 p.m.

MARCH OF DIMES WALKAMERICA 2002 KICK-OFF Interested in starting a Walk Team to help support research to prevent Birth Defects? Join us for lunch at Kauai Lagoons 11:00 AM to learn more about the mission of the March of Dimes and what you can do as a team captain for a WalkAmerica WalkTeam!

As well as:

25th ANNUAL WIAMEA TOWN CELEBRATION with Island Entertainment, food, craft & game booths, a beer garden and lots of sporting events. , Friday 4:30 start, Saturday 10am start, both nights end at 11pm. Free.

NFL QUARTERBACK CHALLENGER- Come and enjoy an action packed, fun-filled day as NFL's elite Quarterbacks challenge each other in various obstacles and competitions. Just as last year, this event will be held at the Vidinha Stadium in Lihu'e and will be free and open to everyone!
